I'm a transplanted Redneck living in the heart of Cajun country; Lafayette, LA. I don't hunt or fish, and I don't eat much seafood. I love horror movies, Star Trek and customizing action figures, especially the Playmates Trek figures from the early 1990's. These are some of my rambling thoughts....

If you're reading this blog, you're either lost or you wanted to see what I was up to. So, I'm wondering, why do we blog? I mean, some tweet, others myspace, and I myself facebook. Is what I do day-to-day really that interesting? Go to the mall and watch people. Everyone is looking down at their fruit phones...you know, Apple iPhone, Blackberry, etc. I'm surprised more people don't run into each other. Hey, look up! Come one, people. When did we have to be constantly updated? Always in touch....Heck , I can remember going to Howard Bros with a dime and a watch, with my dad telling me where to meet back at what time. And you were there, or you'd get a status update to your bottom. Ouch.....

Ok, don't know what this was about, just thought I'd write something.

Hello?

Getting away from it all

So, the family and I have escaped the life that is Lafayette and ventured to Perdido Key, Florida. As I type this it's just after midnight of Friday the 13th of April 2007. I'm sitting out on the balcony of our condo at Spanish Key, facing the Gulf of Mexico and listening to the surf roll in. It's an amazing sound, I'll tell you. I could really get used to something like this. We spent the morning on the beach, just like we did yesterday. Come to think of it, it's what we're going to do tomorrow, too. Quite a life, huh?

Anyway, no real news to talk about. Oh, of course there's the Don Imus fiasco (Amid the outcry over his on-air racial slur, Imus said Thursday that he had "apologized enough" and that he will not go on "some talk-show tour." "I'm not going to go talk to Larry King or Barbara Walters or anyone else," Imus said on his flagship station in New York, WFAN-AM, which is owned by CBS Corp. and distributed "Imus in the Morning" nationally. "The only other people I want to talk to are these young women at the team, and then that's it," Imus said.Imus' disparaging remarks about the Rutgers players prompted eight companies to pull their ads from his show: Staples, General Motors, Sprint Nextel, GlaxoSmithKline, Procter & Gamble, PetMed Express, American Express and Bigelow Tea. ), D.A Nifong's blunders (On Wednesday, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper threw out the case against the three young men, pronounced them innocent and delivered a withering attack on Nifong, portraying him as a "rogue" prosecutor guilty of "overreaching." Cooper said Nifong rushed the case, failed to verify the accuser's allegations and pressed on despite the warning signs.), and of course the War in Iraq (The bomber slipped through the tightest security net in Baghdad and blew himself up in the midst of lawmakers having lunch in the parliament dining hall Thursday. U.S. officials said eight people, including at least two parliament members, were killed in the deadliest-ever attack in the American-guarded Green Zone.) , but you can read about that anywhere...

Goodnight, and have a pleasant tomorrow....

STAN LEE ON HEROES

Comics legend Stan Lee will appear in an upcoming episode of NBC's Heroes.

According to two publicity photos released by NBC, Lee will play a bus driver in the "Unexpected" episode scheduled to air on Monday, Feb. 19.

Lee appears with Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura.

Lee has appeared in many of the Marvel films and has also had parts in such films as Kevin Smith's Mallrats.

Lee will appear in two Marvel movies this year: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Spider-Man 3. In Fantastic Four, he plays himself in a humorous scene involving Reed and Sue's wedding. Lee has said his role in Spider-Man 3 will have him talking with Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker.

Lee will not appear in Marvel's other 2007 film, Ghost Rider. Director Mark Steven Johnson, who used Lee in Daredevil, said he did not use him this time because the film was shot in Australia and because Lee did not create Ghost Rider.
